Kisu Moves
Kisu's month of quarantine was coming to an end and it was time to bring her into the main part of the house. We wanted to keep her separate from Kitty until they had a chance to familiarize themselves with each other through a door in the hall.
Kisu, being semi feral, was not in a rush to encounter what he thought was the big world of the house so the new arrangement worked beautifully. Even with an open door policy, he was not interested in roaming around yet. He had a room, a bathroom and a hall to explore and that for him was just fine, for now.
Kitty was well aware of him, but she had no interest in going to the back of the house to see this new creature. She could see plenty of them by just looking out the patio window.
About a month went by before Kisu decided to come explore. He was interested in the kitchen and that yellow cat that kept walking through the house to use the litterbox. Soon his curiosity got the better of him and he explored every nook and cranny of the main house. There was so much to see and even more to smell. Yet at the end of the day, Kisu returned to the back room to settle for the night.
It took about a week for Kisu to give up his old quarters and make the living room his new home. He was now part of our everyday life.
Kitty tolerated him but let him know who was the boss. She was old and not as sure footed as she used to be, but no kitten was going to come into her area without some rules. Kisu caught on fast, but being a kitten he wanted to play and Kitty was just too old and feeble to stand for any of that.
